Typhoon No. 3 caused widespread devastation and severe damage to many provinces and cities in the northern region. Thousands of houses collapsed or were heavily damaged; hundreds of thousands of hectares of rice and crops were flooded and destroyed, and numerous roads, schools, medical facilities, and public infrastructure were seriously damaged.
Hoa Phat’s factories and farms in northern provinces such as Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Thai Binh, Yên Bai, and Phu Tho fortunately suffered no human losses but did record significant damage due to the typhoon and subsequent flooding. Many factories and farms were damaged, thousands of trees were uprooted, and production was interrupted due to widespread power outages. Immediately after the storm, the Group actively worked to address the damages, and production has now basically returned to normal.
However, in the spirit of mutual support, Hoa Phat Group and over 32,000 employees have contributed 30 billion VND to help the people in the affected provinces rebuild and stabilize their lives quickly.
Founded in 1992, Hoa Phat Group operates in five sectors: Iron and Steel, Steel Products, Agriculture, Real Estate, and Home Appliances. The Group operates in and contributes to the state budget across 26 provinces and cities nationwide. Tying its development to the well-being of the community, Hoa Phat is actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities, focusing on four main areas: Healthcare, Education, Transportation, and Community.
In the first half of 2024, the Group contributed 7.4 trillion VND to the state budget. Hoa Phat has carried out numerous charitable and social initiatives, such as building 300 homes for the needy in Tra Vinh, providing clean water to communities, donating 300 water purifiers to schools and medical facilities nationwide, and breaking ground on the Binh Dong Primary School project in Binh Son District, Quang Ngai. The Group continues to implement annual programs such as “Beats of Love” – sponsoring heart surgeries for disadvantaged children, and “Adopted Mothers” – providing monthly food support for orphans.
Also in September, the Group donated 10 billion VND to Dong Hy District, Thai Nguyen Province, to invest in the construction of the administration building and a two-story, eight-room classroom block for Khe Mo Central Kindergarten.
